Description

Ingredients

  • 4 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
  2. Toss sliced apples with ½ cup brown sugar and cinnamon; set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix oats, flour, remaining brown sugar, and melted butter until crumbly. Reserve 1 cup for topping.
  4. Press the oat mixture into the bottom of the baking pan. Layer the apple mixture on top and sprinkle with reserved oats.
  5. Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown. Cool before slicing into squares.
