  • 1 lb beef tortellini (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded whole milk mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs (oregano, thyme, basil)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef until fully cooked (6-8 minutes). Drain excess fat and stir in garlic powder and Italian herbs.
  3. Mix marinara sauce into the skillet with beef, then gently fold in the beef tortellini until well coated.
  4. Layer half of the tortellini mixture in the baking dish, sprinkle half of the mozzarella on top, then add the remaining mixture followed by more mozzarella.
  5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  6. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
