- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 ½ cups warm water (110°F)
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup plump raisins
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix warm water and honey. Sprinkle yeast on top and let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Stir in salt and half of the flour until well combined. Gradually add remaining flour while kneading until smooth, about 8-10 minutes by hand.
- Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and knead in cinnamon and raisins. Divide into 8 equal portions; shape each into a bagel.
- Boil water in a large pot; drop bagels in (2-3 at a time) for 1 minute on each side.
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Place boiled bagels on lined baking sheets; bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
